- Powerpoint is a complete presentation graphics package.
- You can make these things with powerpoint: Presentations, Slides, Handouts, Speaker's Notes, and Outlines.
- To create a presentation you write and design slides.
- After launching Powerpoint the following screen appears. Task Pane on the right side of the screen. Select the Blank Presentation under the new portion of the Task Pane.
- The Blank Presentation allows you to build you own unique presentation.
- The slide layout pane contains a set of 27 different auto layout formats.
- The title bar displays the name of the program you are using.
- The standard toolbar contains icons for some of the most commonly used commands.
- Placeholders contain formatting characteristics for items to be added.
- View Buttons allow you to quickly switch between Powerpoint views.
- The status bar displays info about the number of slides in the show.
- The slide sorter pane displays thumbnail representations of each slide in a presentation.
- The menu bar displays a list of menus that you use to give commands to powerpoint.
- The formatting toolbar contains buttons for the most commonly used formatting commands.
- To add a new slide you must click the new slide button on the formatting toolbar.
- Powerpoint will automatically choose the "bulleted list".
- Clipart helps the powerpoint standout by adding pictures.
- Powerpoint displays the picture on the slide with eight sizing handles surrounding it and a green rotating handle.
- You change the size of the selected picture on a slide using the sizing handles as well as rotate from it orginal position.
- Most people find it easier to apply templates when you first start creating the presentation.
- When you press "beam" design all your slides wll be converted to match it .
- You view your slide show by clicking "slide show".
- To view you powerpoint and the way its going to look when you print it you press "print preview" from the file menu.
- Powerpoint automatically selects "slides" as its default printing format.
- For class you will have to press "handouts" then print.
- Handouts have 6 slides per page.
- When doing a powerpoint keep it simple; no more than two diff. fonts in the presentation, no more than 7 words per bullet, and no more than seven bullets per slide.
- Be Consistent.
- Match your design with your purpose.
- Present information.. Just dont read it !
